Beware! Dangerous secrets lie between the pages of this book. OK, I warned you. But if you think I'll give anything away, or tell you that this is the sequel to my first literary endeavor, The Name of This Book is Secret, you're wrong. I'm not going to remind you of how we last left our heroes, Cass and Max-Ernest, as they awaited intiation into the mysterious Terces Society, or the ongoing fight against the evil Dr. L and Ms. Mauvais. I certainly won't be telling you about how the kids stumble upon the Museum of Magic, where they finally meet the amazing Pietro! Oh, blast! I've done it again. Well, at least I didn't tell you about the missing Sound Prism, the nefarious Lord Pharaoh, or the mysterious creature born in a bottle over 500 years ago, the key to the biggest secret of all. I really can't help myself, now can I? Let's face it - if you're reading this, it's too late.

Drake is a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and entrepreneur. Drake initially gained recognition as an actor on the teen drama television series Degrassi: The Next Generation in the early 2000s. Intent on pursuing a career as a rapper, he departed the series in 2007 following the release of his debut mixtape, Room for Improvement. He released two further independent projects, Comeback Season and So Far Gone, before signing to Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment in June 2009. Drake released his debut studio album Thank Me Later in 2010, which debuted at number one on the U.S. Billboard 200 and was soon certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). His next two releases were 2011's Take Care and 2013's Nothing Was the Same, which were both critically and commercially successful; the former earned him his first Grammy Award for Best Rap Album. In 2015, he released two mixtapes-the trap-influenced If You're Reading This It's Too Late and a collaboration with Future titled What a Time to Be Alive-both of which earned platinum certification in the U.S. Drake released his fourth album, Views, in 2016, breaking several chart records in the process. The dancehall-influenced album sat atop the Billboard 200 for ten nonconsecutive weeks, becoming the first album by a male solo artist to do so in over ten years. The album's second single "One Dance" topped the charts in several countries, including the U.S., the U.K., and Canada, where it became his first number one single as a lead artist. That year, Drake lead both the Billboard Hot 100 and the Billboard 200 charts simultaneously for eight weeks, coming close to a record held by Whitney Houston. Views achieved quadruple platinum status in the U.S., and earned over 1,000,000 album-equivalent units in the first week of its release. The album's lead single "Hotline Bling" secured him his second and third Grammy Awards, for Best Rap/Sung Performance and Best Rap Song, at the organization's 59th ceremony. Drake has sold more than 12 million albums (Including more than 9 million albums sold in the U.S) and 74 million singles globally. Drake released the multi-genre More Life in 2017. Described by Drake as a "playlist," it was his seventh consecutive number one on the Billboard 200, and set multiple streaming records. Drake holds several Billboard chart records. He has the most charted songs (154) among solo artists in the history of the Billboard Hot 100, the most simultaneously charted Hot 100 songs in a single week (24), the most time on the Hot 100 (431 weeks) and the most Hot 100 debuts in a week (21). Drake also has the most number one singles on the Hot Rap Songs, Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay and Rhythmic Charts. Alongside his Grammy Award wins, Drake has won three Juno Awards and six American Music Awards, as well as a record thirteen Billboard Music Awards, while also being one of the most acclaimed rappers of the 21st century. Drake has developed other ventures, including his OVO Sound record label with longtime collaborator Noah "40" Shebib. Drake acts as a producer, producing under the pseudonym Champagne Papi. Using the "OVO" moniker, Drake has his own clothing line and his own program on Beats 1 Radio. He has also developed a whiskey, is a restaurateur, and is the global ambassador for the Toronto Raptors.

The Debt Abyss

How did I get myself in to this mess? How am I ever going to get out of it? It’s just too much to deal with; so many people depend on me! Life preserving sustenance oozes from my soul and evaporates around me. I’m too weak to take the next breath. The debt abyss symbolizes a powerful collective human condition, that lures, traps and feeds on indebted minds. So much of your energy or your thoughts are anxiously engaged to counter the powerful pull from within the debt abyss. Once in its grip, the abyss has the potential to devour anything and anyone in its path, like the relentless flow of lava down the once green slopes of a mountain. Only the effect of opposing natural forces such as cool air and water can slow down its momentum and eventually stop its flow all together, but not before it has done almost irreparable damage. This work is such a natural force. I sensed a guiding awe within the creative realms of this work, in pondering how humanity can ever break free from the pull within the debt abyss. A precise quantity of souls across the expanse’s reach has become wearisome, their feeling devoid of a sense of being, disconnected, overburdened with the prospect of living with themselves for another day. The sobering truths in this book will arm you with a different perceptive of why you are within the abyss, and that you have the hope of options. Together we deflate the burden by exploring reasons for and effects of indebtedness. We unpack the more common excuses used to remain within its grasp. By asking, what now, the solutions and tools are offered to improve your mental fiber and help you rise above its pull, once and for all.

A New York Times Bestseller Instagram. Whisper. Yik Yak. YouTube. Kik. Ask.fm. Tinder. The dominant force in the lives of girls coming of age in America today is social media. What it is doing to an entire generation of young women is the subject of award-winning Vanity Fair writer Nancy Jo Sales’s riveting and explosive American Girls. With extraordinary intimacy and precision, Sales captures what it feels like to be a girl in America today. From Montclair to Manhattan and Los Angeles, from Florida and Arizona to Texas and Kentucky, Sales crisscrossed the country, speaking to more than two hundred girls, ages thirteen to nineteen, and documenting a massive change in the way girls are growing up, a phenomenon that transcends race, geography, and household income. American Girls provides a disturbing portrait of the end of childhood as we know it and of the inexorable and ubiquitous experience of a new kind of adolescence—one dominated by new social and sexual norms, where a girl’s first crushes and experiences of longing and romance occur in an accelerated electronic environment; where issues of identity and self-esteem are magnified and transformed by social platforms that provide instantaneous judgment. What does it mean to be a girl in America in 2016? It means coming of age online in a hypersexualized culture that has normalized extreme behavior, from pornography to the casual exchange of nude photographs; a culture rife with a virulent new strain of sexism and a sometimes self-undermining notion of feminist empowerment; a culture in which teenagers are spending so much time on technology and social media that they are not developing basic communication skills. From beauty gurus to slut-shaming to a disconcerting trend of exhibitionism, Nancy Jo Sales provides a shocking window into the troubling world of today’s teenage girls. Provocative and urgent, American Girls is destined to ignite a much-needed conversation about how we can help our daughters and sons negotiate unprecedented new challenges.

Previously published as A Tale of Two Sons Nearly two thousand years ago, Jesus told a simple parable about a family . . . a father and his two sons. But there is a part of this story that often goes untold. It’s a message you need to hear. This powerful book provides fascinating new insight into one of the Bible’s most important stories. Using accurate and captivating historical context, John MacArthur invites you to hear the parable of the prodigal son as it was originally intended. Beautiful in their simplicity, rich in God’s forgiveness, these twenty-two verses from Luke will reawaken you to a new understanding of God’s love and the joy our repentance brings to Him. You are about to experience a tale of inexhaustible grace and an ending you’ve never heard before.

“Learn how to create an organic, edible garden and then make the most of the fruits (and vegetables) of your labors” (Los Angeles Daily News). Barbara Damrosch and Eliot Coleman are America’s foremost organic gardeners—and authorities. Barbara is the author of The Garden Primer, and Eliot wrote the bible for organic gardening, The New Organic Grower. Today they are the face of the locavore movement, working through their extraordinary Four Season Farm in Maine. And now they’ve written the book on how to grow what you eat, and cook what you grow. The Four Season Farm Gardener’s Cookbook is two books in one. It’s a complete four-season cookbook with 120 recipes from Barbara, a master cook as well as master gardener, who shows how to transform your fruits and vegetables into mouthwatering dishes, from Stuffed Squash Blossom Fritters to Red Thai Curry with Fall Vegetables to Hazelnut Torte with Summer Berries. And it’s a step-by-step garden guide that works no matter how big or small your plot, with easy-to-follow instructions and plans for different gardens. It covers size of the garden, nourishing the soil, planning ahead, and the importance of rotating crops—yes, even in your backyard. And, at the core, individual instructions on the crops, from the hardy and healthful cabbage family to fourteen essential culinary herbs. Eating doesn’t get any more local than your own backyard. “Beautifully photographed and illustrated . . . Provides a thorough and accessible discussion of how to grow food, what to grow, how to get the most from your garden and finally, how to make it all taste delicious.” —Minnesota State Horticultural Society

This manuscript that you are reading is not a book in the traditional sense of the word. It is rather a compilation of thoughts and experiences I have had and various treatises that I have felt compelled to write over the last few years. It is because of my desire to share these observations that I have decided to put them together. They all served to codify my thoughts and feelings and convey what I personally believe in areas of health of body, mind and spirit. Because some of these articles were written at different times, you may find certain truths repeated from time to time. Please forgive this and edit them out; it is my feeling that they serve to reinforce that which has helped me to arrive happily at three score and ten. I still refer back to this book as a resource and find its validity for me to be sustaining. If it helps you to have at least one happier day, it will have fulfilled its purpose.

The Collected Writings of Michael Snow

Writing, for Michael Snow, is as much a form of “art-making” as the broad range of visual art activities for which he is renowned, including the “Walking Woman” series and the film Wavelength. Conversely, many of the texts included in this anthology are as significant visually as they are at the level of content — they are meant to be looked at as well as read. Situated somewhere between a repository of contemporary thought by one of our leading Canadian artists and a history book as it brings to light some important moments in the cultural life of Canada since the 1950s, these texts tell their own story, marking the passage of time, ideas and attitudes. The works included here, ranging from essays and interviews and record album cover notes to filmscripts and speeches (which, in Snow’s hands, often fall into the category of performance art), are not only “built for browsing,” they offer insights into both the professional and the private Snow. Together, they expand the context of Snow’s work and show the evolution of a great Canadian artist, beginning with his early attempts at defining art, to his emergence and recognition on the international art scene. This book is one of four books that are part of the Michael Snow Project. Initiated by the Art Gallery of Ontario and The Power Plant Gallery, the project also includes four exhibitions of his visual art and music.
