"Get this book, learn the system, do cool readings." - David Numen "Julian's work is the best of the bunch in these genres. I have scoured book stores. I only learn from his books and ideas." - John Cesta My latest ebook which teaches the fundamentals of cartomancy is now ready for release. It's similar to my other books in that it's aimed at complete beginners as well as people who've started learning this particular reading discipline but then given up for one reason or another. Like my other books I use a no nonsense approach with lots of memory tips, insights, reviews and exercises over ninety pages to help you get up to speed as quickly as possible and the whole experience is extremely 'hands on'. In fact part of the process involves scribbling on the cards a lot to make sure the basics are implanted in your mind as you go. I'm really hoping that this new book gets some of you on the road to giving proper and interesting readings with cards instead of just thinking about it. There's a lot more information hidden in those fifty-two bits of paper than you probably realise! REVIEWS "I got this yesterday and have started the study and have to say it's quite brilliant. I've read cards of one form or another for 20 years after learning initially from the Joe Riding course but for various reasons I was looking for something to help me sharpen my skills - and this more than does the trick. For anyone who might feel that they'd rather this was on tarot I think it's worth pointing out that when I started doing readings many moons ago a number of clients would tell me of this mystical sounding old man who read from "ordinary cards". It was clear that the impression given to these women was that reading ordinary cards was somehow more skillful and impressive than tarot cards (I guess the pictures on the cards might make it obvious to some astute clients that there are highly visible cues on the cards). Playing card readings rock - and playing cards predate tarot and are thus, in my book, purer and more mysterious than tarot." - David Numen "I purchased this ebook. What a great system. Always in the easily understood clear writing format you'd expect from Julian. This is of a quality you would expect to find in a book store. I have in the past purchased Julian's James Bond Cold Reading book and his Palm Reading book. For me this is one of the best. I find I am more in tune with numbers than the others. I always have a deck of cards and certainly the places I frequent there are cards as well. The fact that you can use a few cards, a few more to create a simple or more complex reading is terrific. Make it as long or short as you'd like. Julian's audio book (available for free from his site) is also top notch! Lots of valuable audio files to use while driving or sitting in a Doctor's office. Certainly worth the asking price. If you have any of Julian's other offerings you know what I mean. If you don't have any of Julian's other offerings don't hesitate. His metaphors and memory links make sense and they work." - John Cesta OTHER KINDLE BOOKS IN THE SPEED LEARNING SERIES BY JULIAN MOORE Speed Learning: Graphology - The Art Of Handwriting Analysis Speed Learning: The James Bond Cold Reading Speed Learning: Palmistry - Palm Readings In Your Own Words

The Ghost dance Religion and the Sioux Outbreak of 1890

Responding to the rapid spread of the Ghost Dance among tribes of the western United States in the early 1890s, James Mooney set out to describe and understand the phenomenon. He visited Wovoka, the Ghost Dance prophet, at his home in Nevada and traced the progress of the Ghost Dance from place to place, describing the ritual and recording the distinctive song lyrics of seven separate tribes. His classic work (first published in 1896 and here reprinted in its entirety for the first time) includes succinct cultural and historical introductions to each of those tribal groups and depicts the Ghost Dance among the Sioux, the fears it raised of an Indian outbreak, and the military occupation of the Sioux reservations culminating in the tragedy at Wounded Knee. Seeking to demonstrate that the Ghost Dance was a legitimate religious movement, Mooney prefaced his study with a historical survey of comparable millenarian movements among other American Indian groups. In addition to his work on the Ghost Dance, James Mooney is best remembered for his extraordinarily detailed studies of the Cherokee Indians of the Southeast and the Kiowa and other tribes of the southern plains, and for his advocacy of American Indian religious freedom.

The author of, "FACETING HISTORY: CUTTING DIAMONDS AND COLORED STONES" has for a long time had a deep interest in learning how the early faceters (cutters) of diamonds and colored gemstones were able to complete their work. What methods did they use? What equipment did they have to make success possible? How soon did they discover how to complete the many phases necessary to accomplish their work? How did the equipment and methods differ between fashioning diamonds and faceting colored stones? These are just a few of the questions that the author wanted to find the answers for. In looking for answers to these and other questions, the author found that there were bits and pieces of information available in many previous books, but there was not a good book available that would answer most of his questions. Upon hearing the author ́s remarks about this fact, one of the librarians at the wonderful library located at the Gemological Institute of America ́s Carlsbad campus said that if such a book was not available, "maybe you should write the book!" Well, the author had been thinking of doing just that, but the remark caused the author to see the light and agree to get started on the project. Little did he know then that the project would require many months of eight hour days over seven day weeks to get the book completed. He decided to write a book that would answer these and other related questions that he had. The thought also occurred to him that such a book would be a valuable volume to be placed in libraries of individual faceters around the world. He realized that such a book would also be of great value to anyone who works behind a Jewelry store counter. A successful sales person is one who is knowledgeable about the products that they are selling. A book of faceting information would be extremely valuable if read and re-read from time to time. A customer in the Jewelry store will no doubt be favorably impressed by a sales presentation that is made with the use of interesting and informative information about diamonds and the various colored gemstones. The customer will be convinced that the sales person knows about what they are talking. The author has spent nearly three years on the project of researching the GIA library and other libraries, along with the extensive personal library of gemstone related books that he personally possesses. Many conflicting reports were noted in his study. He has made the statements in his book reflect the most commonly accepted opinions, of the most respected authors ́ works that he has found in his research. History is only obtainable from the earlier works of other authors. We cannot go back to the long past centuries ourselves, to see first hand what really happened and when it happened. A study of faceting history requires making the best choices of the information that is available. This completed book answers questions as to why the fashioning of diamonds was/is so different from the faceting of colored gemstones. The book compares the needed equipment and the methods that have brought the greatest successes. In addition, a great deal of other information connected to faceting is included. There are seven chapters in the book and there are over 125 photographs of the early equipment and methods that were used. The photographs show the faceters, the workroom conditions, and the tools and equipment that they used to complete beautiful and lasting gemstones. The book chapters are titled: An Introduction to Faceting, Early Man ́s Stone Appreciation, Diamond Fashioning Procedure and Equipment, Colored Stone Faceting Procedure and Equipment, The Evolution of Cut Designs, Famous and Historic Gemstones, Sources of Diamond and Colored Stone Rough, and lastly, Advances in Faceting Over the Past One Hundred Years. By books end, the reader will be well informed as to what is r

“Thoroughly realized and lovingly told, THE THREE THIEVES AND THE MAGIC TEARS presents a robustly imagined world. In addition to this world building, readers will enjoy well developed characters and a new twist on the popular quest narrative.” — BlueInk Review “Taube’s fanciful, page-turning tale will charm all. She has created quite a world – whimsical enough for kids but evolved enough to keep adults engaged. The theme of facing one’s fears, as seen here, is universal. Taube deals with this oft- considered idea in a way that’s not at all hokey: sometimes things are scary, and people have to learn to cope in their own ways. A fun, fancy-free look at facing one’s fears and aiming for forgiveness.” — Kirkus Reviews “Taube does a splendid job describing characters and events, her use of adjectives paints strong pictures for children. The varied dialogue of the thieves, Nana Ida, and each character in the four lands speaks volumes about their motivations and traits. Based on the last page, it seems Taube will eventually be writing a sequel (she should).” — Foreword Clarion Reviews “Can a children’s’ book be about the stupidity of greed, cowardice, courage, valor, self-sacrifice, personal redemption and the value of the earth and its’ elements? THE THREE THIEVES AND THE MAGIC TEARS is. Our three thieves begin a journey to kidnap a magical little old woman with the remarkable gift of her tears falling as diamonds. To find her they are led to the four corners of the dark forest. They meet frightening circumstances in each land, beginning with a giant Whitewolf and four starving pups in the Land of the North. They must prevail or become food for the wolves. In the Land of the East they are met by fairies, elves and people who walk on air to avoid bubbling pools of scalding water. They learn about wind that is used to talk with other villages, the wind that aids them to climb a mountain, and a hurricane that once again almost destroys them. In the Land of the South they come perilously close to dying of thirst because of their ignorance of the desert. They meet the people of the south called Firewalkers and a wisewoman with a red hot finger of truth. In the Land of the West they finally find a watery, diamond strewn pathway that will lead them to the magic old woman Their transformation begins when they meet Nana Ida who sends them on a journey of redemption where each of them must face the things that terrifies them the most. They must pass the grotesque Guardians of the Pool of Transformation. Each Guardian forces them to face their personal nightmares. How they survive brings the climax of the story, but not necessarily the end of the tale.”

æIn the seven decades since the Second World War, 14 Squadron has operated a wide array of aircraft types (Mosquitoes, Vampires, Venoms, Hunters, Canberras, Phantoms, Jaguars and Tornados) in a fascinating variety of roles. For much of this time, the Squadron was based in Germany at the front line of the Cold War, but it also participated in the Gulf War in 1991, in operations over Iraq from 1991-2009, in the Kosovo conflict in 2000 and latterly during the war in Afghanistan, firstly with the Tornado GR4 and then with the Shadow R1. Today the Squadron operates in great secrecy in an Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition and Reconnaissance role.æ Having had access to log-books, contemporary diaries, maps and photographs, as well as oral and written accounts from a large number of ex-Squadron members, the author has been able to produce as complete an account as is presently possible of the operational history of 14 Squadron in the second half of the twentieth century and the opening years of the twenty-first.
